LIFEGUARD TRAINING – Blended Learning Class
- 19 hours in person , 8 hours online blended learning, the last scheduled class will be held at Teays Valley YMCA for skills evaluation
- Skills and knowledge to prevent & respond to aquatic emergencies
- CPR/AED for the professional rescuer
- First Aid
- Two-year certification
AGES Must be 15 by last day of course attended
After registering for class, you will be emailed a link to start the online portion of the class. This is a blended learning class where videos are watched online and skills are practiced in the in-person class sessions.
Skill Evaluation: The Skills Evaluation consists of:
300 yard swim of front crawl and/or breaststroke
Tread water for 2 minutes using only legs
Timed event, goggles not allowed. Swim, surface dive to a depth of 7-10 feet, retrieve a 10-pound object. Swim 20 yards with only legs and exit water without using a ladder or steps. PARTICIPANTS MUST PASS THE ENTIRE SKILLS EVALUATION.
Saturday 8:30am- 4:30pm
Sunday 1:30 pm- 3:30pm at Teays Valley YMCA
Failure to attend all class dates, pass all written tests, and/or skills test will result in forfeiture of class fees. All classes are nonrefundable.
